Michelle Jones, CMCA®, AMS®, PCAM®, LSM®
While finishing my degree in business at Mount Saint Mary’s University, I started my career in the government sector in 2002 with the honor of administering an education program for first responders across the nation. Subsequently, I had the privilege of working for the Franklin County Chamber of Commerce and Department of Economic Development in northeast Georgia. I transitioned to community association management in 2011 managing a small portfolio of communities for a management firm and obtained my real estate license. I was later hired to work directly for a large-scale association as their General Manager, and I remain there today. Over the years I have had the privilege of managing communities ranging from 96 homes to 4800 and counting.
Whether you live within, volunteer for, or work for a community association, knowledge is key. Community Association Institute (CAI) and Community Association Managers International Certification Board (CAMICB) have been a vital to my success. I am proud to hold the designations of Certified Manager of Community Associations (CMCA®), Association Management Specialist (AMS®), Professional Community Association Manager (PCAM®), and Large-Scale Manager (LSM®) of which there are only 80 nationwide. I remain committed to participating in continuing education opportunities multiple times a year and regularly travel to conferences to stay apprised of ever-evolving information.
In addition to my work, I am dedicated to serving my community and that of the greater association management industry. Throughout my life, I have served countless volunteer hours, served on the Board of several homeowners, civic, and volunteer associations as well as the Education and Magazine Committees for the CAI Chesapeake Chapter. In 2024, I had the privilege of chairing the Chapter’s Education Committee and two Large-Scale Managers Committee task forces for CAI National as well as co-hosting the 2024 Large-Scale Managers Workshop for large-scale community managers across the Nation. I was honored to have received a Volunteer of the Year award for 2024 from the Chesapeake Chapter where I will have the privilege of serving on the Board for the next three years. I have also been appointed to serve on the CAI National Large-Scale Managers Committee.
My professional and volunteer service have certainly taught me that together is better. Through collaboration with our neighbors and reliance on experts, we can shift from the stereotypical thoughts of HOA living to a greater sense of understanding and community. I’m here to help you and your community along the way.
